A Change Of Pace: Melges 20 Worlds

After the two days of ultimate Southwest Newport breeze, the third day of the Melges 20 World Championship saw warm temps, dawned sunny skies, but no wind.


When sailors reached at the Sail Newport to start their preparations, the glassy water of the sea was tempting for water skiing. A lengthy morning rescheduling gave the way to one light air Melges 20 World Championship race, one more time shuffling the standings with one final day to go.

At 09.00, the PRO of the event Peter ‘Luigi’ Reggio made the announcement that the AP would be lifted and the next announcement will be made by 11:30, which gave 20 sailors Melges some time to get relax check out the best coffee shops of Newport. (more…)

Burling Happy With The Effort So Far

The Emirates Team New Zealand is on a roll so far at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup final tussle with Team America.


This event is being held in Bermuda. Peter Burling of the New Zealand team is very much happy with the showing that the team has put up so far. It has taken a 3-0 lead over the Oracle Team USA. Peter is happy to have provided the Kiwis back home and the traveling Kiwi army something to cheer about.

The helmsman of the Kiwis team, Peter Burling, he was really taken aback by the number of New Zealand flags that were seen fluttering in the America’s Cup village. He thanked all the people who had got up in the eagerly hours of the morning to watch Team New Zealand slog it out in the Great Sound in Bermuda. (more…)

Sail Racing Clothing Partner Of WMRT

The World Match Racing Tour (WMRT) has been appointed by the Swedish company (SRI) Sail Racing International as the official partner for clothing. The team of Sail Racing will develop fresh limited collections in association with the WMRT. Both technical race gear and merchandise of WMRT has been designed according to the requirements of M32 catamaran for high performance and for shore crew and fans.

Britain Wins 6 Medals At 2017 World Cup

The first World Cup regatta of the 2020 cycle is now complete and Britain has ended up with a rich haul of medals.

It has collected a total of 6 medals from the first 2017 World Cup. Great Britain has amassed three silvers, a bronze, and two golds at the first 2017 World Cup. This is a remarkable achievement by the British sailors and they have done their country proud.

The Sailing World Cup Miami has now concluded after the final racing last Sunday on the Biscayne Bay. The gold in the 49ers racing event went to Dylan Fletcher-Stuart Bithell. They were happy with their feet and looked forward to even better showing in the races to come. The British sailors topped the first two positions in the Nacra 17 event. (more…)

Melges 24 World Championship

One of the many sailing events that continue into the throes of winter is the 2016 Melges 24 World Championship.


This competition is scheduled from November 29th to 3rd December. There are a total of 92 entrants who would be competing in Miami on an ocean course. Bora Gulari is being considered as the American who might have a chance at the title this time. He is considered a stalwart of Melges 24 and he has been a Moth world champion two times, once in 2013 and another time in 2009. He also clinched the title of Rolex Yachtsman of the year in 2009. Bora also came close to winning titles in Melges 24 World Championship in 2013 as well as in 2014.

Bora and his team came together in the last minute and many were apprehensive about their performance, wondering how the team would perform as they had not had time to practice. Bora had his most recent accomplishment at Danish Worlds that was held last year. He also won the Line Honors that was held in October at Lake Geneva. (more…)

Q Class Yacht Revival Features

The Q class is revived and it represents a mini version of the J class at less cost as well as less hassles for crew members. Most people would agree that the J class has been designed in accordance with the Universal Rule.

However the

The RS: One Races

Among the different open sailing championships that are held, The RS: One Class is a competition that is organised by Cercle Nautique de Loctudy and FFV and is part of the 2016 European Championships. It was held between 4th and 9th July in France.

The championship has been open for all to participate and allows Europeans to try different racing formats like The Pulsar which is a compact slalom style along with marathon which is a long distance sailing.
